Romans 12:2 NLT
“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
The call to stand out and join the revolution is given to every follower of Christ. Too often we are so easily seduced and ignore the call to be more. By ignoring the call to join the revolution for Jesus we cover up our light for Him just as if we were at some masquerade party. Copying the behaviors and customs of this world is to adhere to contemporary thinking and values, which are always dominated by Satan. (2 Corinthians 4:4)
God desires for us to be transformed. Transformation can only occur when the Holy Spirit changes our thinking through consistent study, meditation and application of Scripture. Once we begin to learn God’s ways we can begin to test them and put them into practice. Through the application of the Bible, we begin to know that God’s ways are good, pleasing and perfect. What have we got to lose?
God desires to bring us from the darkness to the light—He desires to transform us by the renewing of our mind. All we must do is let Him, and answer the call to be more.
Think about some of the ways you may be compromising God’s ways for the ways of this world.
Take a moment and see if you can identify the patterns in your thoughts that lead to compromises.
Spend some time praying, asking God to help you not fall into the same patterns of compromise. over and over. Let Him transform the way you think.
