Let’s take a look at what's been going on in the world of combat sports. Thank you for being in our corner and for joining us in this update!
I shall call him... Mini-me
Another year of God’s grace and provision has come and gone! 2024 marked multiple celebrations for our family. I turned 30 in March—my knees remind me often! My wife and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary in February, and in September we welcomed our son, Easton Anderson, to the world! We are thrilled to celebrate life together as parents.
Alongside our personal celebrations, we also are celebrating a year of ministry within combat sports. From knock outs to intimate prayer times, locker room inspections to preaching, wiping off a bloody brow to sharing the hope of Jesus over a cup of coffee, our ministry has been present and supportive not only in the cage but outside of it as well.
We launched Fight Church this last spring, an online service for combat sports athletes. Preaching a catered message and giving a healthy picture of church as a whole has been a great addition to our online ministries. Alongside our podcast, blogs and videos, Fight Church is another avenue in which we support athletes to live in grace-filled victory.
In and out of the cage
In harmony with our digital ministries is our boots-on-the-ground chaplaincy service. Traveling across the state to competitions is our chance to be present with competitors, give service to promoters, and invest in relationships with gospel centrality. On fight night we add value backstage as well as at cage side, and serve with no strings attached. We offer Bibles, give prayer, wrap hands and help corner competitors in their fight.
We traveled to 11 events in 2024 and are grateful for all our volunteers and strategic leaders for making each event possible. Six churches also welcomed us to share about our ministry. Our home church gifted us with an office space, and we also increased our monthly budget by about $800 this last year.
There’s a lot to celebrate as we look back, and also as we look forward. We know God will continue to provide as we remain faithful to Him. Join us in prayer as we look to purchase a vehicle, move into a larger home and increase our monthly budget by $1200 this year.
We are excited, ambitious and eager to expand our reach, deepen relationships and bring the hope of Jesus to the world of combat sports.
