Transformation into a Revolution

Jesus desires to bring transformation to our lives. Transformation can only happen when people’s spiritual beliefs are confronted and changed by the truth of who He is. He is more than a make-believe figure of religion. He is more than a picture on a wall or a dead person hanging on a cross. Only Jesus can bring true transformation and break the pattern of sin in our lives. Jesus is life. He is purpose, hope, freedom and love. Jesus is relevant. He is the only reason to live life.

Too often we join the world and see Jesus as just a religion, as a list of do’s and don’ts, as limitations instead of life and life to the fullest. That is why God tells us not to join everyone else. They don’t know the truth about His Son.

Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. (Romans 12:2)

The Bible, absolute truth, tells us the following about Jesus and who He is--buckle up because we are going for a ride:

Everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in His grace, freely makes us right in His sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty for our sins. (Rom 3:23-24) For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom 6:23) Jesus was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. (Isa 53:5) For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. (2 Cor 5:21) He was handed over to die because of our sins, and He was raised to life to make us right with God. (Rom 4:25) The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; Jesus came that we may have life, and have it to the fullest. (John 10:10) For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16) God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (Rom 5:8) For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Rom 10:13)

This is truth. This is the way we are to think. Jesus took our place and died so we may be forgiven. He rose from the grave so we can live for something bigger than ourselves apart from this world. He chose to take our place so we can become part of a revolution. This revolution doesn't copy this world. This revolution is transformed by the power of God that cries out: “The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”

Jesus is calling you into a revolution. How are you answering the call? What is your current intellectual state? Are your thoughts and patterns of life built on the truth of who Jesus is? What needs to change?

Prayer:

Lord, all we ever need is in You. The truth of Your Word is what we are to stand upon and base our lives around. Help us to keep our footing in truth and live as radical revolutionists of love. Be glorified in all we are. Amen.
